NC State wrestling wins 2016 ACC title for first time since 2007

NC State done did the thing, y'all. For the first time in nine years, the Wolfpack won the ACC wrestling title, holding off Virginia Tech for a 90-81.5 team victory. State placed six different wrestlers in the finals, four of whom were victorious. Virginia Tech, I believe, had seven finalists.

It was a back-and-forth day between the Wolfpack and Hokies, who quickly established that this ACC tournament would be a two-horse race. North Carolina was a distant third with 56.5 team points.

The Pack wrestlers who won individual titles included heavyweight Nick Gwiazdowski, who continued an incredible undefeated run with that victory, Gwiazdowski, along with seven other NC State wrestlers, have qualified for the NCAA championships in New York City. That event begins on March 17, and it's fair to say this team is capable of a historic finish.
