We should remember that NC State has Jaylen Samuels

Man, you know what we needed after the last week of news? An article about Jaylen SamuelsSo thank you for that, David Hale. Sometimes we forget that we have Jaylen Samuels, but it is important to remember--especially during difficult times--that we have Jaylen Samuels.

That piece includes a lot of great remarks from Samuels, but one statistical anecdote stood out. Over the last 10 years, only five other power-conference players have managed 500+ yards receiving, 350+ rushing, and five touchdowns both on the ground and through the air. Christian McCaffrey, De'Anthony Thomas, Randall Cobb, DeMarco Murray, Percy Harvin. And Samuels is not a good comp for any of them, which just underscores how rare he is.

There is a lot of elite speed in that group, whereas I tend to think of Samuels as getting shit done with a sledgehammer. Not that he doesn't have wheels himself. Anyway, don't think about basketball problems right now, just read that article, and then watch some JaySam highlights.

The last one is my favorite. He cuts back across the field and runs through like 97 arm tackles and then as he approaches the near sideline, dude from EKU just falls over as Samuels cuts again. Samuels is never brought down, he merely runs out of legal boundary space. In hindsight, it was somewhat cruel to subject Eastern Kentucky to Jaylen Samuels.
