The 3rd annual #goacc Tournament of Champions: Page 145 Regional Opening Round

The best of the best (worst?) have been selected after a rigorous process by the selection committee. Now it's up to you to help determine the #goacc champion of the season.

It's that time yet again, folks. The committee of one has assembled a tremendous bracket of some #goacc legends from the past 12 months, and BTP's 3rd annual #goacc Tournament of Champions I think will be the best yet. Most of these I think you will instantly recognize, and some of these early round matchups are going to be some absolutely difficult decisions.

You should see a poll just below here which is a bit different than our standard #goacc posts. It really has to do with for some reason SurveyMonkey didn't want to embed correctly at the bottom of the page, so as Akula told me the other night, our own tournament experienced #goacc. All you need to do is scroll past the poll, review the entries, then use the links at the bottom of the page to return to the top and vote.

We're going to start with the aptly named Page 145 Regional, because Page 145 as the top overall seed in our tournament is essentially undefeated. I'm not sure even the #goacc legend Frank Beamer could defeat Page 145.

Without further ado, it's time to vote! If you haven't voted for the other regionals, you can use the Storystream link on the right hand side of the page to access the other regionals.

THE PAGE 145 REGIONAL OPENING ROUND

1. #Page145

vs

16. Syracuse thinks the Carrier Dome is Sharknado Proof

Come on, do I need even need to explain who you gotta vote for here? Page145 might be one of the funniest things I've ever come across while reviewing all things #goacc. While I appreciate anything related to Sharknado, this will not be the first 16 seed to defeat a 1 seed.

8. Louisville player heads to wrong bench

vs

9. Miami football is afraid of first downs

Oops! @GoCards forward Jaylen Johnson accidentally went to the wrong bench last night. #L1C4https://t.co/6JIGHPhh62

first downs are bad https://t.co/odSSae2o5A

Our first 8 vs 9 matchup in the Page 145 Regional is a bit of a coin flip, at least in my opinion. Both involve players heading in the wrong direction in completely different sports. I could see either of these moving on to the round of 32.

5. Jabari Parker gets clowned by Chris Paul and Blake Griffin

vs

12. UNC fan sends dumb email to Andrew Carter

Great stuff here lol https://t.co/C7pPlzRdyf

— Duke Blogger (@Dukeblogger) July 15, 2015

Someone help my man out. It's early yet on a Sunday ... http://pic.twitter.com/IjhvOQInHv

— Andrew Carter (@_andrewcarter) October 25, 2015

Now, here we have a matchup that could end with the dreaded 5 vs 12 upset. The video of Jabari getting owned as a rookie by Chris Paul and Blake Griffin is pretty amazing, but that email is coming into the tournament hot, and man, is that an alltimer. Some might argue that email is seeded too low, but hey, how else can I make hilarious matchups?

4. Frank Beamer dabbing

vs

13. Pitt basketball team singing Adele in the airport

Frank Beamer with ALL THE DABS! https://t.co/VyxKi95zlp https://t.co/k06C4gxGEn

— SB Nation (@SBNation) November 28, 2015

Layover in SF results in impromptu music video. Panthers version of Hello by Adele http://pic.twitter.com/Ssis5apTjG

— Pitt Basketball (@HailToPittHoops) November 15, 2015

The champ from last year's #goacc Tournament of Champions, Frank Beamer is back and has a strong presence yet again in this year's tournament. You didn't think he'd go into retirement from #goacc without a bang, did you? While the Pitt team's rendition of Hello is pretty hysterical, come on. There's no way Frank shouldn't move on.

3. Ryan Switzer goes up to try and get caught by a teammate, is caught by nobody

vs

14. Kids dancing at Wake-NCSU baseball game

Still laughing at Ryan Switzer hoping to be caught by his teammate https://t.co/UGmTc7zpf5

Current status https://t.co/ycCaB2Yc2P

— Steven (@akulawolf) May 11, 2015

As intensely as those kids are dancing at that baseball game, that vine of Switzer just slays me every single time. We could be seeing that 3 seed make a deep, deep run in this tourney.

6. Duke basketball managers sprint like crazy

vs

11. Miami's recruiting letter looks like a nightclub flyer

Where are they going? Why are they in such a hurry? https://t.co/qzKf5oLieQ http://pic.twitter.com/z4u7mZZDk2

— Deadspin (@Deadspin) January 19, 2016

The same document, Miami version and Georgia Tech version http://t.co/APWBcC3mlA http://pic.twitter.com/KwbYNF57Qn

— truuuuuuuTV (@JasonKirkSBN) August 3, 2015

This matchup could end up being a lot closer than I expect it to. Ultimately I think the Duke Managers here will speed into the Round of 32, but they might get a game from that hilarious recruiting letter from the U.

7. Jameis Winston appears on a banner ad for Publix

vs

10. Virginia Tech...HOOkies?

Jameis Winston on a Publix banner... Who did this????? http://pic.twitter.com/z0hFO9gZdX

— Kenny Wilson (@KenWithBenefits) August 29, 2015

Go Hookies!!! The best entrance in all of college football. #ACCMashups https://t.co/EHDvzYRKPs http://pic.twitter.com/k3QV4ALWCa

— Ben Swain (@TheBenSwain) August 10, 2015

Another coin flip matchup, in my eyes, though the irony of Jameis appearing on a Publix banner ad should be enough to move this entry on to the second round. Let's celebrate with some crab legs!

2. That awful foul in the Wake-State basketball game

vs

15. Marco Rubio gets called out by FSU's president

They called this a foul on Freeman. What an embarrassment of a call. Dude just missed the dunk on his own http://pic.twitter.com/pW0B7G1Qs3

— Lon Petrini (@Lon_Petrini) February 13, 2016

UPDATE: FSU president John Thrasher sends a message back to Marco Rubio. http://t.co/EmwedJv2NZ http://pic.twitter.com/1niAxveCLj

— FSView (@FSView) September 15, 2015

Poor Marco Rubio, he's going to lose at something else, too.
