Bathroom bill could signal the death of NC's film industry

Pay close attention to what's happening in Georgia:

“Disney and Marvel are inclusive companies, and although we have had great experiences filming in Georgia, we will plan to take our business elsewhere should any legislation allowing discriminatory practices be signed into state law,” the Disney Co. said in a statement.

One of the main reasons the Charlotte ordinance advanced was because hotels and other establishments were actively discriminating against LGBT folks, and state law was woefully inadequate to correct that problem. And thanks to the blatant overreach by pandering lawmakers with this new bill's language, protections are even worse now, if they exist at all. After what happened yesterday, including McCrory's blindingly fast signature, when the film companies are looking at alternate sites for their Georgia productions, they will strike North Carolina off the list entirely.
