Cat Barber voted first-team All-ACC; Malcolm Brogdon wins Player of the Year

Cat Barber earned first-team All-ACC honors from the league's voting media members. Barber was the only NC State player to receive votes. (Abdul-Malik Abu probably deserved an honorable-mention nod, but I can't quibble otherwise.) Malcolm Brogdon is the ACC's Player of the Year, and he along with Brice Johnson were both unanimous first-team selections.

Here's how the All-ACC teams shook out:

All-Atlantic Coast Conference
First Team
Brice Johnson, Sr., North Carolina
Malcolm Brogdon, Sr., Virginia
Cat Barber, Jr., NC State
Grayson Allen, So., Duke
Jaron Blossomgame, Jr., Clemson

Second Team
Michael Gbinije, Sr., Syracuse
Sheldon McClellan, Sr., Miami
Demetrius Jackson, Jr., Notre Dame
Brandon Ingram, Fr., Duke
Damion Lee, Sr., Louisville

Third Team
Marcus Georges-Hunt, Sr., Georgia Tech
Anthony Gill, Sr., Virginia
Zach Auguste, Sr., Notre Dame
Michael Young, Jr., Pittsburgh
Angel Rodriguez, Sr., Miami

They got the first team right, but I got some major problems with the other two teams. I will spare both you and myself a rant, because I care about how we spend our time and would not like to waste it.

Brandon Ingram is the Freshman of the Year, and Jim Larranaga won the Coach of the Year nod. NC State does not have a player on the All-Defensive team, and Maverick Rowan didn't make the All-Freshman team. The complete results are here.
