College football Week 5 schedule: Kickoff times and TV schedule

Here's a random topic, but what do you think is college football's sweet spot, in terms of weather when you attend games and overall quality of games? I like September a lot for the 6 p.m. kickoffs because those are my favorite tailgates, but most of September is clogged by lopsided matchups.

I'm inclined to go with mid-to-late October, at least in the south, where the weather is still usually decent and most everybody is beyond cruddy non-conference matchups. Early November can be good too, though. It's somewhere in that range, I feel confident. With enough research we can pin down an exact date.

Anyway, the college football schedule this week is approaching that sweet spot, if not quite there. We've got some solid early-slate games, including a matchup between ranked teams!. That's when you know it's getting serious. NCSU/Louisville could be one of the best games to start during the noon hour; the ACC has a surprising number of 3:30 kicks; and Alabama-Georgia should tide us over until the night games.

Only thing that can potentially screw up a lovely day of football is incessant rain. Here's the full schedule:
