Mark Gottfried received personalized shoes from Adidas, and if you ask me it's about damn time. He is Adidas' third- or fourth-most recognizable figure after James Harden and probably some other people. Gottfried showed these shoes off on Twitter, and you will never guess this, but people had opinions about them.
Fired up to have my own @adidas shoe! What you think about em @catbarber1994? #adidas http://pic.twitter.com/klGaTlfV3I

Say what you will about the design of the things, that man has got his name on a shoe, and that's pretty good. Do you have your name on a shoe, you know, that's not written in magic marker? I don't have my name on a shoe. It's one of my numerous shortcomings but I've come to accept it.
Reactions to Gottfried's photo were mixed, obviously, with most of them negative. And to be honest the shoes are not 100 percent my cup of tea. But why does there always have to be this guy?
@Mark_Gottfried @adidas @catbarber1994 i think you might want to work on coaching better and care less about your shoes

HEY COACH THIS IS KEVIN FIRST TIME TWEETER WHY DON'T YOU WATCH FILM AT THE EXPENSE OF YOUR ENTIRE LIFE YOU SHOULDN'T EVEN HAVE TIME TO PUT ON SHOES, MUCH LESS TAKE PICTURES OF SHOES.
There is a weird subset of people who either think this is a funny jab or have some bizarre expectations regarding what college coaches and athletes should be doing every day. Remember when Scott Wood made a trick shot the one time and there was a dude there to scold everyone about NOT WORKING WITH THE FOCUS BASKETBALL REBOUNDING EFFORT.
That's the trouble with the internet--there's people on it. I think your shoes are perfectly neat, coach, and that they do not reflect on your work ethic, one way or the other.
