NC State football recruiting: Three-star DT Ben 'Shug' Frazier commits to Wolfpack

Thursday night broke a drought for NC State football in terms of commitments. Big defensive tackle Ben "Shug" Frazier from powerhouse Buford High School in Georgia made a surprising commitment to further bolster a strengthening defensive line in Raleigh. Rated as a high three-star or four-star among the recruiting services, Frazier had offers from top SEC and B1G schools and was thought was to be a lean to schools like Florida and LSU.

I'm extremely excited and thrilled to announce that I will be committing to NC State!! #Pack16 #WolfPack ⚫️⚪️ http://pic.twitter.com/Vg8KV71KfS

At 6'2" and 320 lbs, Frazier, who is a member of the 2016 class, will continue the trend of good run-plugging tackles playing for the red and white upon his arrival. At this time, it's not known if he will enroll early or not.

NC State is also hoping to add consensus five-star Dexter Lawrence and four-star Amani Bledsoe to its ranks in the trenches. Both should be in town this weekend (Bledsoe on an official visit).
