NC State injury report: Hakim Jones, Jaylen Samuels practicing; Bryce Kennedy to return

During his Monday press conference, Dave Doeren discussed the matchup with Wake Forest, how the coaching staff handled the bye week (you'll never guess, but they got back to the fundamentals!), and went over NC State's injury situation.

Both Hakim Jones (hamstring) and Jaylen Samuels (foot) suffered minor injuries against Virginia Tech, but they've been practicing and will be ready for the Wake Forest game. Jones was held out of the second half against the Hokies, and Samuels had been in a boot as a precaution. Obviously, nothing can seriously injure Jaylen Samuels.

Doeren said Alex Barr wasn't completely healthy against Virginia Tech but continues to improve, while reserve Bryce Kennedy likely will be ready to make his return this weekend. Kennedy's return would give State the depth at offensive line it has not had since week one:

"We should have Bryce Kennedy for the game which would give us a healthy two-deep for the first time since the opener on the offensive line. That's been a problem, not because we didn't have five guys to play with but because we didn't have the same chemistry up front."

The Pack was fortunate in this area last season, but not so much in 2015.
