NC State's 2016 schedule ranked 37th by ESPN's FPI

The degree of difficulty for Dave Doeren and company will be a tad higher in 2016, there's no doubt about that. In addition to a road game at East Carolina in the non-conference portion of the schedule, State also hosts Notre Dame. The Wolfpack is at UNC this season. Plus there's those dang games against Florida State and Clemson we can't seem to get rid of.

ESPN's Football Power Index projects the Wolfpack to have the 37th-toughest schedule in the country. FPI also projects the Pack to finish the season at 6-6 overall, which seems fair considering what lies ahead. The Wolfpack could well start 4-0, but then four of the next five opponents are Notre Dame, Clemson (road), Louisville (road), and FSU. Yikes.

If you'd like to see State's game-by-game win probabilities, KenPom-style, they're right here. The Pack's best odds are against William & Mary, unsurprisingly, while its worst odds are on the road at Clemson. Again, not really a surprise. That should be the toughest game NC State plays all season, when you factor in both the talent on the other side and the venue.
