NC State opens as 16-point favorite over South Alabama

For the second consecutive week, NC State is a big favorite to win on the road. The Wolfpack will close out its forgiving non-conference schedule on Saturday night against South Alabama, this the return trip for an old two-for-one deal signed prior to Debbie Yow's arrival as athletics director. The Pack is an early 16-point favorite, per Vegas Insider.

The Wolfpack may go into this game with another patchwork offensive line, which is cause for at least some concern. Alex Barr may not be ready to go, or at least, the coaches appear to be preparing for the game that way. If he can't, then State will be operating pretty thin there, with more pressure on young players to deliver.

Of course, that was the situation at Old Dominion as well, and NC State wasn't too bothered by it, so let's just hope that continues.

South Alabama is 2-1 this season, with wins over Gardner-Webb and San Diego State to go with a blowout loss at Nebraska.
