NC State football recruiting: OL Bryson Speas flips from Virginia to the Wolfpack

Pack nabs another in-state prospect.

NC State capped a productive weekend with the addition of 2017 in-state offensive lineman Bryson Speas, who announced his commitment to the Wolfpack on Sunday night. Speas had been committed to Virginia since late June.

The Dudley (Greensboro) product is a consensus three-star recruit, per the 247Sports composite. He’s been playing left tackle in high school but could be a guard at the next level, but regardless, at 6’4 and 260 pounds, he’s going to need to add some weight.

Speas is the first offensive lineman to join NC State’s 2017 recruiting class, and probably will be the only one, I’m guessing. The Wolfpack’s class ranks 10th within the ACC and 42nd nationally. Still a few additions to be made between now and signing day, but it could be rather quiet on the trail this fall.
