Notre Dame vs. NC State: Repairs to Carter-Finley Stadium field underway

It ain’t lookin’ so good at the moment.

NC State’s field needed some major surgery, since it turns out that playing football during a monsoon is hard on the playing surface. Fortunately, the Wolfpack won’t play a game at home until late October*, which provides ample time to get this field back into playing shape.

(*Well, fortunately for the turf guys. Not-so-fortunately for the football team.)

NC State associate athletics director Fred Demarest posted a photo update on Tuesday:

Three days later... Carter-Finley Stadium aerated and reseeded. Props to @RNBrince & team as they get it ready for BC on 10/29. http://pic.twitter.com/sZMHiCzuut

Can’t even tell where the lovely shores of Lake Dayes once sat.
