NC State falls 24-17 at Clemson in overtime

It doesn’t matter how much you try, how good you are, or how often you miss opportunities—there’s just gonna be some random shit that happens in sports. NC State took full advantage of the randomness on Saturday, but could not finish. Clemson won in overtime, 24-17.

The game set up perfectly for State, but an inability to finish out drives cost the Wolfpack this game. That and Kyle Bambard’s errant field goal tries.

Say what you want about the officiating, State had a chance to walk off in Clemson with a chip-shot field goal attempt. It didn’t work. Of course it didn’t. God, this team, man.

I’m not sure that we’ve seen a Dave Doeren Wolfpack team play better than it did this weekend. They were so close to a breakthrough, and honestly, they’d earned it. Sports are cruel and awful, though. So cruel and awful. I’m going to go take a nap.
