4-Star Wide Receiver Kelvin Harmon Commits to NC State

This is very good news

The Wolfpack got a big boost today at the wide receiver position with the commitment of four-star Kelvin Harmon. Harmon, who is from Palmyra, New Jersey, committed first to South Carolina in early October. NC State was the perceived runner-up for the four-star wideout, and subsequently the leader following his decision to leave the Gamecocks. Miami offered and received an official visit causing the decision to come down to the Pack and the Canes. After Miami, Harmon's other offers included Boston College, North Carolina, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse, Mississippi State (which oddly happened on the day of his decision) and West Virginia among others.

Harmon is the third wide receiver the Pack has landed in this class, all of which are listed at 6'2" or taller. Tall wide receivers were a major priority in 2016 and Harmon joins 6'5" C.J. Riley and 6'2" Daeshawn Stephens. Harmon himself is listed at 6'2" 196 by Rivals and is the highest rated of the three and the second highest rated player in the entire class.

The biggest remaining target on the board for the pack is defensive back Carlos Becker from Kissimmee, Florida. NC State was long thought to be the leader, but the winds have begun to blow towards other schools, specifically Florida State and Ohio State, as his decision nears. He plans to decide on Wednesday.

Devontres Dukes is still out there at wide receiver, but it is not clear that State would accept his commitment after adding Harmon. His final three was NC State, South Florida, and Marshall, with the Bulls being the favorite if the Pack passes on him.
