NC State wrestling beats No. 11 Nebraska, stays perfect

NC State's wrestling team is very good. Ranked third nationally. This is all very, very new. So new that it's been surreal to watch this team win duals against midwestern powers on the road. NC State won at No. 4 Oklahoma State in early December. State beat No. 11 Nebraska on Saturday night.

The Wolfpack wrestling team is now 21-0 in duals, and this is not for lack of challenge. They have beaten eight ranked teams, six of which were ranked in the top 20. They crushed the defending ACC champion. This is an incredible season.

State will close out regular-season play with matches against Virginia Tech and Missouri. Both are top-10 squads. These are home contests (at Dorton Arena), with some serious history on the line, so I recommend attending them if you have the opportunity.

It's never been like this. And if we ignore the context of the season, at bare minimum, two-time national champion heavyweight Nick Gwiazdowski deserves a big finale.
