4-star CB Carlos Becker commits to Florida State over Ohio State and NC State

In recent years, National Signing Day has been pretty quiet for NC State, with the Pack's class usually complete or very close to it. It's no different this year, with Carlos Becker's decision the only real mystery remaining. Becker committed to Florida State during a ceremony at his school on Wednesday morning, choosing the Seminoles over Ohio State, NC State, and a whole bunch of other schools.

Becker is listed at 6-2, 185 pounds, and runs a 4.4 40-yard dash. He is a top-200 player nationally, and the 15th-best prospect at corner. He probably could have helped right away at NC State, but alas.

The Wolfpack appeared to be in good shape earlier in the cycle, and Becker had taken an official visit in Raleigh for the Clemson game. As the recruiting cycle matured, though, Becker drew more and more notice as he shot up the various recruiting rankings. Once Florida State and Ohio State jumped in, NC State's odds obviously took a big hit.

In the end, Becker couldn't pass up the opportunity to stay in-state and play for one of the country's elite programs.
