Thanks for the distraction, basketball!
Not a moment too soon, NC State basketball returns on Monday night to distract us all from the football team’s struggles. This is the second and final exhibition game, and holy crap, everybody, the season-opener is mere days away now! Woohoo basketball!
The Wolfpack hosts Barton College for its final warmup at 7 p.m. ET on Monday night, and as was the case with the first one, this exhibition contest will be available via livestream at GoPack.com. That link should take you right to it. Seating is general admission and tickets cost $5 bucks.
Hopefully we’ll see a smoother game from the Pack from start to finish, but they’ve got a lot of time to work out the kinks before they go to the Paradise Jam for some potentially difficult matchups. And they did still end up averaging 1.15 points per possession against Lynn despite the slow start. (That game was played fast, too—87 possessions.)
More run-and-gun against Barton might offer a small clue to how the team will play differently with Dennis Smith at the helm, but we probably won’t have a good idea about that until we’re several games into the regular season. Something to keep an eye on Monday night, though.
