NC State picks up commitment from TE Adam Boselli

Red light on!

While it was a bad weekend for the football team, the Wolfpack’s 2017 recruiting class got a boost Sunday when three-star tight end prospect Adam Boselli announced his commitment to NC State. Boselli is the son of former NFL All-Pro offensive lineman Tony Boselli.

Beyond blessed and excited to announce I'm committed to NC State! #gopack #1pack1goal @StateCoachD http://pic.twitter.com/aqVTSYfjX1

Adam Boselli plays for the Episcopal School of Jacksonville under head coach Mark Brunell, who like his pops is another prominent ex-Jaguar. Tony Boselli also helps out as an assistant coach. (Fun fact! According to wikipedia, Brunell and the elder Boselli own every Whataburger franchise in Jacksonville.)

Adam camped at NC State, Duke, and Southern Cal (Tony’s alma-mater) in June. USC hasn’t offered him a scholarship, per 247Sports, but he does hold offers from Duke, Kansas, Memphis, and Old Dominion, in addition (obviously) to NC State. He is a consensus three-star prospect.

Here’s a brief scouting report on him from August by Scout.com’s Corey Bender:

Boselli is more of a split-end on the high school level, so he needs to continue to strengthen up his frame and pack on weight, but this is a big body that can really run and stretch the field. He's also fleet-footed for a prospect of his stature.

Boselli, 6-foot-4, 215 pounds, also flashes reliable hands and concentration when working in congested areas. He needs to do a better job of utilizing his size by getting vertical to high-point the football, but is an intriguing prospect with nice potential to work with.

Boselli also plays linebacker for Episcopal. Junior year highlights:
