NC State point guard Dennis Smith Jr. fully cleared to play basketball

Good news, everyone! And especially good news for Dennis Smith Jr., who announced Thursday that he's been cleared by doctors to return to the court, with no limitations. Pick-up games at the Dail are about to get a lot more entertaining.

Officially cleared thank God

Almost eight months to the day since Smith tore an ACL, he's ready to go. He suffered the injury during an AAU event on the west coast during the first week of August 2015 and has been rehabbing since undergoing surgery the following week. The initial prognosis was a 6-9 month rehab period.

He's been making steady progress all spring, no doubt helped by the fact that he's been able to work with NC State's doctors and strength and conditioning program. Now he has about seven months to get himself fully ready for the start of the 2016-17 season.
