NC State football recruiting: Pack adds 3-star DB Isaiah Stallings to 2016 class

Turn on your red lights.

(Quick Ed.'s note: Matt wrote this article, and I (Steven) published it ... SBN's clownbloggin' software is being wonky and won't let me take my name off the byline. Anyway: this is all Matt's work here. Carry on.)

Monday night yielded a much-needed commitment from a high-three-star prospect. Fayetteville safety Isaiah Stallings committed to the Pack, bringing a boost to the secondary. At 6'4" 200 pounds, Stallings has great recognition and good tackling skills, making him a good candidate for a coverage linebacker or in-the-box safety.

After talking it over with God, my family, and my coaches! I'm proud and excited to announce that I've committed to NC State! #STATEment ⚪️

Coming out of a great program, Terry Sanford, Stallings should be ready to compete fairly early on. Throughout his process, he accumulated offers from Clemson, Duke, UNC, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and others.

The defensive backfield has been in need of talent, so Stallings' ball skills and height helps in that category. In terms of room for improvement, his straight line speed and lateral quickness could use some honing at the next level.

There is one more spot available for defensive backs, but there could be two depending on how the rest of the class shakes out and who wants to come on board. Stallings, James Valdez, and Tim Glass form a solid back line of defense in the class of 2016.
