NC State football recruiting: 3-star OT Justin Chase flips from ECU to the Wolfpack

Head coaching changes usually lead to some decommitments from high school prospects, and in this case, that's worked out to NC State's benefit. Offensive lineman Justin Chase, who'd been an East Carolina verbal since early June, announced Tuesday his decision to switch his commitment to the Wolfpack.

Chase is a 6'6, and depending on the recruiting source of your choice, weighs anywhere from 265 to 280 pounds. He also played defensive line at his high school but will be slotted in at offensive tackle by the Pack. He has the frame for it, but will need to add a few pounds once he gets to Raleigh.

He is a consensus three-star prospect and the No. 58 prospect in the state of Virginia, per 247Sports. It appears that NCSU is his only scholarship offer from a Power 5 program at this point; he also has offers from App State, Charlotte, Marshall, Temple, and Old Dominion.

State has five verbals from offensive linemen in its 2016 class; the class ranks 51st nationally in the 247 Composite.
