NC State point guard verbal Dennis Smith Jr. is expected to make his commitment official this week, during the early signing period. ESPNU will be airing a signing day special on Thursday beginning at 6 p.m. ET and Smith is expected to appear on that show, per Chip Miller. (UPDATE: I guess Friday is the day, and that report is erroneous.)
Smith, who is a consensus top-10 recruit, is still rehabbing from an ACL injury he suffered in August. He nonetheless is regarded as one of the top prep point guards in the country.
As for the other potential additions to NC State's 2016 recruiting class, it seems we'll just have to keep waiting (im)patiently. There do not appear to be any impending resolutions with Bam Adebayo or Rawle Alkins, or at least, neither one of them has set an announcement date at this time.
But if they feel like they want to speed up the process and go ahead and surprise us this week, that'd be just fine by me.
