The #goacc Moment of the Week (11/27/2015)

The weekly in-depth look at the best (worst?) moments in ACC schadenfreude.

Friends, what better way to shake yourself out of a tryptophan coma than with a heaping pile of #goacc? Last week we saw maybe our closest vote ever, where each entry received a fair amount of votes, but Pitt's rendition of Adele's Hello was too much to overcome. I'm not sure we'll see such a close vote this week, but this week's slate is fantastic nonetheless. No Bah Gawd this week unfortunately, but we've also got another #suregrin award to celebrate, as well as a new feature we're going to debut as well. More on that below. And with that, it's time to vote: which is your #goacc Moment of the Week? Vote below!

1. Syracuse committed two incredibly dumb unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and had to try an onsides kick from the ten yard line (h/t @whh44).

I will probably never see an onside kick from the 10 again in my life #goacc http://pic.twitter.com/mF0KF5ZT4j

— William Hinkle (@whh44) November 21, 2015

No, no you probably will not see another onside kick from the ten yard line, Mr. Hinkle. So let's cherish this moment.

2. Someone at ESPN has some poor photo editing skills (h/t @jasonkobielus).

— Jason Kobielus (@jasonkobielus) November 26, 2015

...Or maybe, Brogden really does have three hands, in which case, that's a pretty sweet competitive advantage.

3. I mean, who wouldn't want a deep tissue massage from Rameses? (h/t @5eawolf).

— Stephen (@5eawolf) November 25, 2015

I really couldn't have described what this would be like better than Ross Martin did yesterday, so I'll let him do it:

@thrillis4 @5eawolf Hooves grinding into your back as lavender twirls through your nostrils .

— Ross Martin (@Boss_Martin247) November 26, 2015

Well said, sir.

4. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY gives Ron Cherry the business! (h/t @joeovies and @ACCBiggz).

#goacc RT @ACCBiggz: A very dumb penalty, and Ron Cherry's reaction. https://t.co/61AYYu8sht

— Joe Ovies (@joeovies) November 21, 2015

In all seriousness, how the hell did that VT player not get ejected? Something like that would be a huge fine in the NFL, too. That kid got lucky only getting suspended for one half of the UVA game this weekend.

5. There is nothing more #merica than a McRib banner flying over Carter-Finley Stadium.

This is flying over Carter Finley right now #goacc http://pic.twitter.com/roolK8niNE

— Will Thompson (@thrillis4) November 21, 2015

Seriously, only in the USA will you see thousands of dollars spent to fly a banner over a football stadium about a fast food sandwich being back for a limited time only.

6. This is one of the single dumbest segments I've ever seen on ESPN (h/t @NCSUFan101).

man i really liked Jay Williams on TV until this. this is straight up laughable. http://pic.twitter.com/yq7r4GaSY9

— Will Thompson (@thrillis4) November 25, 2015
I mentioned this the other day, but I generally really like Jay Williams on TV. He usually provides really good insight and analysis. This though, is a giant steaming pile of narrative garbage. I get that Ben Simmons is good, but how about talking about State limiting him to just 4 points and acknowledging that Cat Barber had a huge game?

7. Dave Doeren got fed bad intel about what happened in the UNC-VT game (h/t @PackPride).

Doeren: I heard Virginia Tech had an upset today so good for coach Beamer, I'm happy for him. (Then Doeren adds he got bad info).

— Pack Pride (@PackPride) November 21, 2015

Welp, can't fault him for trying to throw a quick troll in there heading into rivalry week.

8. Well this is the most terrifying Thanksgiving picture ever.

Happy Thanksgiving, #OrangeNation! http://pic.twitter.com/TQl3mvsEoB

— Syracuse Athletics (@Cuse) November 26, 2015

NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE.

9. Wonder how Miami fans feel about this (h/t @bepryor).

App State announces a home-and-home series with Miami beginning next year, moving their 2016 date with N.C. Central to tbd future date.

— Brooke Pryor (@bepryor) November 24, 2015

I'm not sure what would cause the need for this, but it seems unusual to me for a game to be scheduled for next season without a permanent head coach in place. They must've really needed a game.

10. These Virginia Tech fans have matching shirts for the rapper Fetty Wap because...why? (h/t @awbatchelor).

Via @DulaNation: Peak #goacc in Blacksburg http://pic.twitter.com/9mrTpoVwWQ

— Andrew (@awbatchelor) November 21, 2015

This is certainly one of the most random matching t-shirt pairings I've ever seen...someone wanna explain this one?

the #suregrin award.

This week's award goes out to the dumbest, most obtuse franchise in sports, the "professional" football team in Washington D.C. Last week, against the Carolina Panthers, whomever is managing their social media account sent out this nonsense:

Carolina is #Redskins country. #HTTR http://pic.twitter.com/mwOxn2IGxS

— Washington Redskins (@Redskins) November 22, 2015

Well, the Panthers were having none of that, and made sure to let them know.

@Redskins Good luck with getting a trademark on that

— Carolina Panthers (@Panthers) November 22, 2015

This of course makes reference to Washington's seemingly endless and stupid fight to keep the trademark on their team name, so kudos, Washington, you all really earned the award this week. Speaking of Washington...time to debut our new segment here on the #goacc Moment of the Week!

The best photoshops of the week!

First, if you haven't seen the "Crying Jordan face" meme, where the hell have you been hiding these days? Let me show you an example I made for Washington:

— Will Thompson (@thrillis4) November 22, 2015

I still haven't figured out why, but it makes everything instantly hilarious. Let's go to Mark Armstrong for another fantastic example, this one from Jerry World:

— Mark Armstrong (@ArmstrongABC11) November 27, 2015

Tremendous. Finally, in the spirit of HATE WEEK, photoshop master WXMoose of Sports Channel 8 discovered the real culprit behind the infamous #DrunkTown photo:

#DrunkTownRoy is thankful for Tylenol http://pic.twitter.com/lfjmbWZUDb

— Weather Moose (@WXMoose) November 26, 2015

Have a great rest of your long weekend everyone!
