NC State’s Maverick Rowan may make return on Saturday against Tennessee State

Rowan has missed seven straight games because of a head injury.

Maverick Rowan has not played in a game for NC State since he took a rough shot to the head during the Wolfpack’s season-opener, but after a month on the sidelines, he’s just about ready to return. Mark Gottfried said on Thursday that he thinks Rowan will be able to get back on the court Saturday against Tennessee State.

Gott added (via The Wolfpacker):

“When you sit out three weeks and aren’t doing anything at all due to the concussion protocol, it’s going to take him a little while to find his groove.”

Fortunately he has several games to, ahem, get his groove back. I imagine they’ll start slow with him in terms of minutes but barring any setbacks he should be back into form by the end of this month. The goal over these next five games will be to get Rowan and Omer Yurtseven, who makes his debut next week, up to speed.
