NC State and Notre Dame are struggling just a bit in pouring rain

Not the most ideal conditions for football.

While NC State is up just 3-0 on Notre Dame at the half, make no mistake, it was an eventful first 30 minutes. Ridiculous play calls, countless lame-duck passes, field goal attempts! Oh, and fumbles. And this fumble in particular:

Whoopsies! Notre Dame’s center just kinda pushed the ball a little to the left, which as far as I understand football is not the goal of a shotgun snap. NC State’s B.J. Hill scooped the ball out of the ensuing dogpile to cancel an Irish scoring threat ... but Nyheim Hines would fumble the ball right back to Notre Dame a couple plays later.
