Bowl projections 2016: NC State looking more likely to land in Military Bowl, per report

Sounds good to me, let’s do this.

NC State’s odds of avoiding the Independence Bowl and Shreveport appear to be improving. Per a report from the N&O’s Joe Giglio on Wednesday morning, the Wolfpack is looking “more and more” like it is going to land in the Military Bowl, which is played in Annapolis, MD.

Bowl update: It's looking more and more like NC State will play in the Military Bowl in Annapolis on Dec. 27

That would be a welcome development since Annapolis is just a smidge closer to Raleigh than western Louisiana. State’s most likely opponent in Annapolis would be Army or Temple, per Giglio. If there is a drawback to this game, it’s in opponent name recognition: Army/Temple instead of an (albeit crappy) SEC team in the Independence.

But Temple in particular would likely be a worthy foe, as the Owls are 9-3 overall, with a tight loss to Penn State and a blowout win over East Carolina. They’re also one of only two teams to beat South Florida this season.

We might need to up our bribe game to make the Military Bowl happen for us though.

Thanks @WakeForest for the yummy @krispykreme this morning! As we figure out our matchup, some tasty treats can come in handy! http://pic.twitter.com/z2tgQgWEqO
