NC State recruiting Green Bay transfer Kerem Kanter

State is one of numerous schools to reach out to the graduate transfer forward.

Wisconsin-Green Bay forward Kerem Kanter announced his intention to transfer in March, and since then he’s heard from a lot of high-major programs, including NC State. Kanter already has a visit to Xavier set up, per ESPN’s Jeff Goodman. If that name sounds familiar, there’s a reason for it: he’s the younger brother of Enes Kanter.

Kanter has entered his name into the draft so that he can go through the evaluation process, but he’ll be back in college next season, and he’ll be eligible immediately as a graduate transfer, which is one reason why his list of interested parties is so impressive.

The other reason is that he is, y’know, pretty good at basketball. He averaged 11 points and six boards in only about 20 minutes per game this past season, and he made 52.5% of his twos as an extremely high-workload player. He’s a good rebounder and he has improved his perimeter scoring significantly in three years at Green Bay.

Kanter is listed at 6’10 and 240 pounds.
