Baylor graduate transfer guard Al Freeman visiting NC State this weekend

Freeman is a Charlotte native.

As Jon Rothstein reported on Thursday, Baylor graduate transfer guard Al Freeman is visiting NC State this weekend, and also has plans to visit Pittsburgh. (Assuming a commitment does not happen first, that is.) Freeman is eligible to play immediately next season, and he would give the Wolfpack two Freemans, and just think about how confused all the crummy ACC Network play-by-play guys would get.

I digress.

State ideally wants to add at least one more guard that can play next season, especially now that Blake Harris is out of the picture. And with Terry Henderson’s status for 2017-18 still up in the air, adding another proven perimeter player would be helpful.

Freeman is not a distributor but in three years at Baylor has proven a good three-point shooter: he hit 37.4% from deep this past season and is at 36.9% for his career. He also makes free throws at an 81% clip for his career.

This is not the type of player that changes the course of a season, mind you, but he could definitely prove an important part of the rotation for NC State next season.
