NC State vs. UNC game postponed until Sunday at 1 p.m. ET

The roads are good enough, but inexplicably, the game will not be played tonight.

NC State wanted to play as scheduled on Saturday night, but instead, the Wolfpack will have to wait until Sunday afternoon—when it will also be extremely cold—to play the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill. The game has officially been postponed until 1 p.m. ET tomorrow. It will still be televised by ESPN.

The roads are not the problem here. Not in the slightest. Hell, I spent like five minutes watching a dude from WRAL periscope his drive to the Dome. Some places are spotty, but mostly the main roads are fine. State was ready to bus over at 4 p.m. Instead, this rather inexplicable decision to postpone.

Postponement a break from ACC precedent. UNC-Duke was a go two years ago until Duke bus. State-Duke played in state of emergency last year.

The players and officials could get there, TV is already there, but all the sudden we’re worried about people driving home after dark? Strange turn in policy! The temperature between today and tomorrow is not gonna help the situation a whole lot, what with the low being well below freezing, so how much better could travel conditions be in the morning when State’s team has to make the trek over?

I’m all for being cautious, I just don’t see how moving the game back makes a huge difference in terms of the weather conditions. Oh well. Sorry, folks, we’re just gonna have to wait longer.
