A big recruiting weekend for NC State resulted in a trio of commitments.
With National Signing Day only weeks away, recruiting is heating up across the country. NC State hosted several players on official visits this weekend, and netted three verbal commitments. Teammates Louis Acceus (LB) and and Joshua Fedd-Jackson (OL) committed together on Sunday.

Both Fedd-Jackson and Acceus are consensus three-star prospects from New Jersey and are ranked among the top 25 prospects in that state. Both have impressive offer sheets, as well. Acceus has scholarship offers from Virginia Tech, Maryland, UNC, Michigan State, Nebraska, and Wisconsin, among others. Fedd-Jackson was recruited by Michigan, UNC, UCLA, and Minnesota. (And both were of course offered by Rutgers; sorry, Rutgers.)
NC State also picked up a verbal from three-star defensive end Kevince Brown, who is from Orlando. Brown also holds offers from Pittsburgh, Kentucky, Oregon State, and Rutgers. (Sorry again, Rutgers.)
Overall this is a nice boost for a class that badly needed it, especially after Nick Smith’s decommitment. Smith is a fairly typical case of dude who blows up late in the process thanks to his senior season. State was on him early, got his verbal during the summer, but now that Michigan State, LSU, and Florida have swooped in, well, things change. That’s just how it goes if you’re a member of CFB’s middle class—the elites can hop in late and pluck guys away from you despite investing a lot less time and energy.
The Wolfpack’s class is not yet finished, and most notably the staff is trying to add a graduate transfer kicker. Stay tuned; the build up to National Signing Day is usually eventful.
