ACC removes all 2016-17 neutral-site championship events from North Carolina

And yeah, that includes the ACC football title game.

I suppose this was an inevitability once the NCAA took action earlier this week. The ACC announced Wednesday the removal of all neutral site championship events from North Carolina for the 2016-17 academic year. That includes, among other things, the ACC football title game in Charlotte and the ACC baseball tournament in Durham.

And thus good ol’ HB2, equal parts deplorable and pointless, continues to cost this fine state a whole lot of money. It’s a sad day for sports in North Carolina.

A lot of work goes into landing these ACC championships. Strong statement from a guy who has a hand in the process. http://pic.twitter.com/9e2qsFxAXk
