NC State showing interest in Mount St. Mary’s transfer guard Miles Wilson

A new name to keep an eye on.

Miles Wilson announced his decision to transfer on Monday, and he’s already hearing from high-major programs. Per Scout.com’s Evan Daniels, Wilson already has an offer from Penn State and has heard from Kentucky, NC State, Miami, and Virginia.

Wilson just wrapped up a successful freshman season with the Mountaineers, who won both the NEC regular season and tournament titles. He averaged 11.8 points per game to go with 3.9 boards and I guess he’s decided it’s time to look for a bigger stage. (And if the early list is any indication, he’s going to find one.

As a regular ol’ undergraduate transfer, Wilson will sit out the 2017-18 season but after that he’ll have three years of eligibility remaining. At 6’5 and 190 pounds, he has decent size for the guard/wing spot, but he is not a distributor.

He shot 36.2% from three-point range this season and also an impressive 50% on 212 two-point attempts. He is also a good free throw shooter.
