transfers, transfers, transfers, and more transfers!
Sam Hunt prefers the basketball nomad lifestyle, it seems. He began his career at Jacksonville before transferring to NC A&T, then left A&T this offseason, then committed to Pacific, then re-opened his recruitment. Got all that? Eh, it’s not important.
Hunt will be on NC State’s campus Wednesday. As you have probably guessed based on his career history, he is a graduate transfer who will be eligible immediately. He averaged 12.7 points per game for a very bad Aggies team last season. The Aggies actually ranked 349th out of 351 teams in the Pomeroy Ratings, beating exactly one D-I team all year (NC Central, oddly enough).
Hunt had a solid two seasons overall at A&T but his numbers against top-100 KenPom teams are pretty bad, which leads one to wonder just how much he might be able to help the Wolfpack next year. Still, he is a career 34.3% three-point shooter and 91.1% free throw shooter.
