National Signing Day 2017: NC State story lines to watch

It should be a drama-free day, for the most part.

NC State’s 2017 recruiting class is mostly complete, but there are still some spots up in the air as National Signing Day officially gets underway in all of its I’ll-grab-this-hat-no-wait-that-hat absurdity. The Wolfpack is mainly looking for the paperwork from its current pledges, but there is at least a little bit intrigue:

— Darius Hodge, a linebacker from Wake Forest, is considering signing with Marshall instead of NC State to avoid junior college. (His grades are an issue.) If he sticks with NC State, that’s probably an upset, and it’s definitely a big addition for Dave Doeren’s staff.

— Miami commit Zalonte Hillery, a three-star offensive lineman from Georgia, has been considering NC State. If he has a late change of heart, the Pack will happily take him.

— [Insert unexpected wacky signing day thing here. Who knows what it could be, but it’s signing day, so it could always be.]

The fax machine will be warming up early Wednesday morning. Let’s hope for a little routine good news and any other kind of good news that wants to show up.
