The #goacc Moment of the Week (7/15/2016)

The weekly in-depth look at the best (worst?) moments in ACC schadenfreude.

Whew, y’all has it been a bit of a slow summer in the #goacc department. But rest assured, we’re finally back this week with a hilarious crop of entries for y’all to vote on. Hopefully, this is the start of the trend of #goacc picking back up as we move towards the college football season! At any rate, last time we saw the NC State students shooting a beer can with a pellet gun to shotgun the beer win in a far closer vote than I expected. I think we’ll have a relatively close vote again this time. We’ve also got a ridiculous #suregrin award winner, and to make up for lost time, a lot of wisdom from the world of wrasslin’. And with that, let’s get down to the vote. Which is your #goacc Moment of the Week? Vote below!

1. Buzz Williams loves weird ass memes (h/t @Deadspin).

Virginia Tech basketball coach is a purveyor of dank memes: https://t.co/thCF3P5Ir5

This is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever seen. Tom Brady superimposed over a war-torn battlefield with troops in the background? What the damn hell does this even mean?

2. NC State is using Pokémon Go in an Admissions campaign (h/t @applyncstate).

We now have a #PokemonGO map for main campus as well! Check out all the campus gyms & Pokéstops and go catch em all! http://pic.twitter.com/A9eXoa8Q9G

What a time to be alive.

3. Former Wake Forest player Jeff Teague moved into his parents’ basement after signing free agent deal with Indiana (h/t @SBNation).

Can’t wait for the think pieces about this being further proof of how Millennials are destroying America.

4. Tim Duncan wrote quite the paper while at Wake Forest (h/t @tomhaberstroh).

At Wake Forest, Tim Duncan published a paper in a psychology journal. Look at the title. https://t.co/XwcsRN3H9T http://pic.twitter.com/e1YIl8Nqec

That is quite the title there. Tim was dunking on fools even in the classroom.

5. FSU had a player commit with a Lamborghini covered in FSU decals (h/t @SBNation).

An FSU commit announced his decision with FSU stickers on a Lambo: https://t.co/XWuXcX4hxZ http://pic.twitter.com/2MfbldCG3i

Yeah...I’m not going to touch this with a ten foot pole. Nope. Not going to do it. Can’t make me.

the #suregrin award.

This week’s winner goes out to the developers for T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Just look at this hilarious nonsense via Arash Markazi:

This is best part of T-Mobile Arena's new hockey press box. I'm calling it "Stairway to Nowhere." http://pic.twitter.com/F4QqWuuiJi

How on earth does something like this happen? "Hey guys, let’s just build some stairs to nowhere, nobody will notice, it’ll be fine! See, we’ll just add this random office desk chair up at the "top," and it’ll be like it’s someone’s office! See, it’s fine. No worries."

I can just imagine the contractors just shaking their heads.

No photoshops this week, so let’s move right into our moment of wrasslin’...

THE JIM ROSS BAH GAWD MOMENTS OF THE WEEK!!

Some spectacular wisdom from the world of wrasslin’ to share with y’all this week. First, let’s see what really caused Phil Mickelson’s caddie to fall down at the British Open yesterday!

Whoops! Sorry Bones.

This next video might legitmately be one of the funniest things I’ve seen on the internet. Without further ado, take it away, JR!

See y’all next week!
